S-exciting: skin flicks off open stands

While the uproar over the sale of an MMS clip featuring two Delhi Public School students in sexual act refuses to die down and anyone even remotely associated with the scandal is being arrested, a flourishing business of such porn clips and films goes unabated in Delhi’s Palika Bazaar right under the nose of the police. One need not even express the desire to buy porn, it will be invariably offered, I found out during my visit to one of the CD shops in the market. All one needs to do is look like a genuine customer.

Wondering how I should go about it, I entered a shop and started looking for porn CDs. I need not have worried. On seeing my predicament, the shopkeeper approached me saying, “Porn chahiye? Kaun sa? Hindi ya English?”

“You want real action? Take this. Heard of the Miss Jammu scandal? This is the one. This is the Jalandhar sex scandal,” he went on. Soon, CDs of almost all recent sex scandals were in front of me. They came with a ‘guarantee’. “You can come and return it if it’s not genuine or you don’t like it,” he offered.

I asked for the DPS MMS clip, but the shopkeeper expressed his helplessness. “The situation is a little tight. It is there, but not in the market. Take my number. Call me after two days and take the CD,” he said.

However, not all were so forthcoming. At one shop I went to, the salesman took me to a corner. “All varieties available sir. Man-to-man, woman-to-woman, North Indian, South Indian, couples on honeymoon taken on spycam. You will not get this variety anywhere.” He felt I was interested and took me to a small storeroom shared by many shopkeepers. The room was full of bags with pornographic CDs. He opens one and a hundred CDs are there in front of me to choose from. But the prices this time are higher. “What can we do, sir? The situation is tight and the police too are demanding more.” The CDs could be had for Rs 100-150 depending upon the length and quality of the film.

Once I was spotted making rounds of the VCD shops, almost every shopkeeper caught hold of me offering better porn than the other. “Take this sir, all real action. Secretly shot in Delhi farmhouse while a party was on. Girlfriend-Boyfriend. Do you want rape shot on camera? Real action is in demand, sir. Take my card. I am sure you will come back for more.” After I bought two CDs from him, I asked for the MMS clip. He too had the same answer, “Just two days, sir.”
