In the Ryan International school murder case, the Supreme Court on September 11 has issued a notice to the Centre and Haryana government regarding the plea seeking CBI and/or a special investigation team probe into the murder of the seven-year-old boy who was killed inside Ryan International School near Gurgaon on September 8.
The apex court has decided to examine the issue of safety measures in all private schools.
Varun Thakur, father of the boy had filed a petition seeking a CBI probe into the case.
In this regard, the apex court also sought a reply from the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
The bench, headed by Chief Justice Dipak Misra while and asking the governments and the CBSE to respond within three weeks observed that ‚Äúthis petition is not restricted only to the school concerned as it has a country-wide ramification‚ÄĚ.
On September 8, the class 2 child was found dead with his throat slit in a washroom of the Gurgaon school. The incident triggered a massive public outrage in most of the Ryan Interschools in Delhi-NCR.
The police have already arrested 42-year-old school’s bus conductors, Ashok Kumar, who allegedly killed the boy while trying to sexually abuse him but the parents are not satisfied with the investigation and think that the murder was pre-planned.
