Urging voters of western Uttar Pradesh to recall rapes and riots when they go out to vote on February 11, BJP MP Yogi Adityanath on January 31 was addressing a rally in Bulandshar duringÂ the first phase of assembly elections.
One of the BJP star campaigners for the 2017 Assembly polls, the firebrand BJP leader likened western UP to Kashmir. Recalling the flight of the Kashmiri Pandits in the 1990s, he said, â€śIf you don’t wake up now, you will be forced to migrate to other regions. â€śThere are 25 towns where mass exodus has taken place. Once the BJP comes to power, we will deal with this menace.â€ť .
Attacking the Samajwadi Party government, the MP from Gorakhpur asked, â€śWho is safe in UP? Riots occur in Muzaffarnagar, gangrape in Bulandshahr. The government of the day not only perpetrates riots, but also gives shelter to rioters, rapists and criminals.â€ť
Claiming that SP-Congress alliance was a coming together thugs, he said, â€śToday I saw Mulayam Singh Yadav’s concern. He said he won’t canvass for this alliance. For he knows SP is alive as long as Congress is dead, but once the Congress resurrects, it will throw away the SP. That is why he is opposed to this bandhan (alliance).â€ť
Earlier, BJP lawmaker Bhawan Suresh Rana said if he came to power again, he would impose a curfew in the Muslim-dominated Meerut, Moradabad and Kairana districts.
