Two girls aged 17 and 18 years were apparently gangraped by five youths in outer Delhiâ€™s Aman Vihar area on September 14 , said police. The girls had gone to a park in the evening with two friends when they were targeted.
The teenaged girls and their friends (both boys) were chatting when the accused arrived and started misbehaving with the girls. When the boys objected, the accused began beating them. Then they raped the girls in front of them, according to the police. The incident took place on an isolated path near the metro station, added the cops.
After the alleged gangrape, the girls fainted and the accused fled from the spot. The girls’ friends called up the police and told them about the crime. A medical examination confirmed sexual assault.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, Outer Delhi, Vikramjit Singh said four youths have been arrested so far, of which two are juvenile. â€śTheir identities cannot be disclosed now,â€ť he added.
Search is on for another person allegedly involved in the crime. Police said based on the girls’ statement, a case was filed under relevant sections of the IPC and the medical examination confirmed sexual the assault.
