In a mocking statement, Congress leader Ajay Maken slams Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party which marked its 50 days in power, by calling AAP has become a party of VIP and VVIPs. The strong criticism came after AAP organized an event to re-launch the anti-corruption helpline no. 1031.
Ajay Maken posted a picture showing VIP and VVIP parking boards outside Talkatora stadium where AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal launched the anti-corruption helpline. The Delhi congress chief tweeted, “Just passed through the Talkatora Stadium- Look at the pictures- How in just 50 days AAP became a party of VIP & VVIP?”
Notably, the Aam Aadmi Party has denounced the ‘VIP culture’ and always projected itself as a party of âcommon manâ. The Delhi congress chief slamming the AAP members, said, âThis is the same party which said that they will end VIP culture but now they themselves are making entry by placing VIP boards.â
âThey have made their MLA super-MLAs by nominating their 21 MLAs as parliamentary secretary. This has not happened anywhere in this country. They are betraying the people of the city,â Maken alleged.
Meanwhile, AAP leader Adarsh Shastri defended the party saying that the VIP parking was for efficient governance. âWe do not endorse VIP culture but certain things are required for the smooth and efficient working of the government,â he said.
The Talkatora stadium filled with its capacity crowd of 3000 people even as hundreds waited outside, was attended by all Delhi ministers, MLAs and senior government employees.
