Another Tehelka journalist has gone on to prove that real journalism – amid sensationalism, yellow journalism and corporate control of media – has not been relegated to the back seat. Upholding the rich culture and hard-hitting nature of reportage aimed at bringing a change in the society, Tehelka scribe Ruhi Kandhari has won the Women’s Empowerment Journalism Award 2015 for one of her many news articles that are focused on bringing to light the plight and issues of women in our society.
Diageo has announced the winners of the Women’s Empowerment (WE) Journalism Awards 2015, recognising exemplary work in women’s empowerment reporting at an Awards Gala Dinner held in Hong Kong. The WE Journalism Awards was established to recognise and honour outstanding achievements in the reporting on women’s issues. The awards honour the best in journalism across six categories, spanning a range of mediums from print and broadcast to online and photography.
