After a stunning landslide victory in Delhi Assembly elections 2015, the Aam Aadmi Party is set to make history as probably having the youngest cabinet in India with an average age of 37. The AAP party has submitted the list of 7 members who are going to take oath along with Chief Minister designate Arvind Kejriwal to the Lt. Governor Shri Najeeb Jung at Ramlila Maidan on February 14 exactly a year after it abruptly quit as Delhi’s Chief Minister after 49 days.
According to media reports , close confident Manish Sisodia is likely to be named as deputy Chief Minister. However there is still suspense in the list whether AAP will go with a woman member in the cabinet or not in its first phase of an oath taking ceremony. Earlier reports suggested that AAP may go with Rakhi Birla, a working journalist, but there is no official confirmation from the party yet.
One of the AAP leader said this time, AAP’s emphasis was on choosing names, which are more mature and non-contentious and who are achievers in their own fields. “Announcing a name prematurely could create disappointments among some hopefuls or those whose names may or may not be dropped”. Widely expected names like Saurabh Bhardwaj and Adarsh Shastri are missing from the list some reports revealed. Former AAP minister Somnath Bharti, who created a major controversy last time around when he raided an African women house , has been dropped this time .
